Onlooker live streams Critics Circle Film Awards

What's makes a live stream a good return on your investment?

Is it the viewer numbers?

Or to increase brand awareness?

Or to educate?

Or to syndicate on to wider platforms?

Gone are the days of big crews and expense to do a professional live stream, now you can live stream with high end / broadcast quality results with just one camera operator and an live mixing tablet with 2 inputs to mix between the speakers and slides or 'VT'.

In February, with a limited budget, I filmed the The London Critics Circle Film Awards using just one camera, one operator, and an input from the slides showing the award winners.

Here's a clip showing the set up - and a link to the live stream which has now been viewed on various film websites and platforms, over 500,000 times.

Maybe it's a little unfair as many of the awards winners were oscar winners but that sort of success is achievable with very little cost.
