About Us
As our name suggests, we are onlookers — watching the world and making a visual document of it with a clear perspective. We work with broadcasters, businesses and organisations on everything from branded content and EPKs to live TV and documentary production.
Based at Manor Studios, East Worldham, Hampshire — and operating across London and the UK — we bring together experienced crew and the technical capability to deliver across formats, scales and budgets.
Our story
Originally set up in 1997 by founder James Ward — a cameraman and editor — Onlooker quickly built a reputation for delivering across formats and sectors. Early commissions included filming the construction of the ABN AMRO bank in Bishopsgate, London, including live streaming the topping-out ceremony from the 14th floor, and filming Siemens Mobile product launches across the globe for Weber Shandwick, Unilever and others.
After nearly 30 years, we continue to navigate new technologies and bring a creative approach to every brief — from a single-operator shoot to a full live broadcast production.
